Algebraic Expressions and Equations Math Lesson Plan Assignment

For your final project, you need to create a lesson that can (and hopefully will!) be implemented in your elementary classroom. This lesson MUST reflect algebraic thinking and reasoning as we have studied throughout this class.

Additionally, you may use up to six documents to describe your lesson – this might include different Word documents – one for the description and others for your handouts – or possibly a combination of Word documents or Power Points.

The following components are required to be in your lesson plan:

1. Title.
2. Grade(s).
3. Objectives (give either the national standards or local standards addressed).
4. Materials Needed (please include any handouts/powerpoints/etc. you will use – you can upload up to 6 files).
5. Detailed description of the lesson. (minimum of one full page)
6. Assessment (formative assessment used to determine the understanding of your students at the end of the lesson).
7. Describe how this lesson is reflective of what you have learned in this class. (minimum of one full page)

Your lesson plan write-up does not have to follow any particular format – use what works for you – however, you will be graded on how well you address the seven components given above.
