Case Study MBA Schools in Asia-Pacific Report

I am currently in a business statistics graduate course and for this following assignment, my instructor recently revised the instructions of what he would be looking for in this type of managerial report based on the word document and Excel Data Set that is attached below.

Dear students, please do the revised assignment instead of the original one (see attached). The assignment is shorter now. I made the changes due to the following considerations: 1. The term “qualitative data” is confusing. In research usually “qualitative data” means “unstructured textual data.” In this exercise please refer this type of data as to categorical data (nominal and ordinal). 2. There are 15 questions but some are repetitive (e.g. compute the mean…, what percentage…). 3. Some questions are simply factual (e.g. How many schools require work experience and how many of them don’t?) and I would like to shift the focus to evaluation and critical thinking. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Revised Week 2 assignment

Resources: Microsoft Excel®, Case Study: MBA Schools in Asia-Pacific (Attached Below)

Review the Case Study: MBA Schools in Asia-Pacific and the Case Study: MBA Schools in Asia-Pacific data set. (Attached Below)

Prepare a 1,000 word or more managerial report for your boss.

Use the following questions for guidelines and directions on what to include in the report:

  1. Introduction
  2. What is the type of data (Categorical or Numeric) for each of the columns (variables) in the dataset? If numeric, is the data discrete or continuous? If categorical, is the data nominal or ordinal? Neatly summarize your response in a table for all the columns (variables).(Summarized table to be formatted onto Word Document).
  3. Using Excel®, find the mean, median, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and the three quartiles for each of the quantitative variables identified in part 2 above in revised description. Neatly summarize in a table on this document. Comment on what you observe. (Would appreciate in explaining and showing how to find all those functions in Excel of mean, median, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and the three quartiles for each of the quantitative variables, plus to summarize in a table onto Word Document).
  4. What is the average number of students per faculty member? Is this low or high? What does this mean to prospective applicants who are interested in pursuing an MBA in one of the leading international business schools?
  5. What are the mean, median, and modal ages? What does this mean to prospective applicants?
  6. What are the mean tuition for foreign students and for local students? Does there appear to be a significant difference? What is the difference between the two means? What does this mean to prospective applicants?
  7. Comment on the skewness for the data on starting salaries:
    1. Plot a histogram and determine the skewness.(Format onto Excel and displayed onto Word Document; please explain how this is done and to explain within the case study).
    2. Find the skewness coefficient.(Please explain how this is done and what it means pertaining to the case study).
    3. Find the mean, median, and mode for starting salaries and compare the three measures to determine skewness.(Format onto Excel to bring over to Word Document and explain pertaining the the case study).
  8. Use Empirical Rule on the starting salaries and determine whether the salaries follow the Empirical Rule.(Also, please help explain the Empirical Rule pertaining to the Case Study).
  9. Assume that you are the Director of the MBA program of UPO. Based on the preceding findings, draw a recruitment plan for prospective students.
  10. Conclusion
