Discussion response

In this unit you looked at partial fraction decomposition—changing one fraction into the sum or difference of two or more equations. Being able to break down something complex into simpler parts is a really valuable problem solving tool both for this course as well as for other areas of life. Generally it goes that the smaller the parts, the more manageable the problem, and the smaller the problem the simpler the solution. So, being able to break a problem down into tinier pieces is the first step to working through any difficult decision or scenario.

Discussion: Explain how partial fraction decomposition breaks down the complexity of one larger fraction. Then, explain a time where you had a large problem or large decision to make in your own life where you had to simplify the complexity into smaller pieces.
