What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of interviewing when compared to more traditional ethnographic and survey methods? What are some strengths and weaknesses of using more than one of these techniques in a mixed methods approach?

Horgan suggests that increasing our “focus on interviews such that it becomes a standard tool for terrorism researchers would do nothing less than revolutionize the field.” Do you agree? What areas of terrorism research do you think would benefit most from using interview techniques versus other qualitative and quantitative methods?

Critically assess the Ferguson et al. article. What are they interested in exploring? Do they accomplish their goals? What contribution does it make to the literature and what does methodological lessons can we draw from it?
