Statistic Homework Question

We will now test the significance of the correlation for the data that you have collected from assignment #one. Recall that you calculated r, the correlation coefficient in assignment #two…

(The data I collected was from 10 random people and I collected their heights and weight.

person 1: height 6.1 ft weight 185 lbs

p2:  5.10ft and 172 lbs

p3:  5.7ft and 170 lbs

p4: 5.8ft and 180lbs

p5: 5.7 ft and 165 lbs

p6: 5.5 ft and 130lbs

p7: 5.10 ft and 185lbs

p8: 5.6ft and 200 lbs

p9: 5.5ft and 185lbs

p10: 5.8 ft and 122 lbs )

perform a hypothesis test to see if your data is either positively linearly related or negatively linearly related. That is, if it appears that your data is positively linearly related, use an alternative hypothesis that rho >0, with a null hypothesis that rho < ( orequal) to 0. If it appears that your data is negatively linearly related, use an alternative hypothesis that rho <0, with a null hypothesis that rho > ( or equal) to 0.  you must a t-score for this hypothesis test. use a 0.05 level of significance. show your acceptance and rejection regions with the appropriated critical values. state your conclusion of your hypothesis tests.
