Topic 4 DQ 2

Please Respond to the following post with a paragraph, add citations and references.

An interaction can occur when there are two or more independent variables that are concerning for a study. The interaction can be the association or linkage of two or more independent variables. What we are trying to determine is if one of the independent factors influences the performance of another factor. Is there an interaction between the two? The area of focus would be what is the impact on the independent factor and if it had an outcome on the results. A few examples of this are looking at a weight loss program to evaluate an interaction between factors. If you evaluate 2 different diets and 2 different exercise programs: one focused on cardio and one focused on weight training. We want to determine which one has greater weight loss. We randomly assign participants to either diet A or B and either the cardio or weight training regimen, and then record the amount of weight they’ve lost after 1 month. You want to look at each factor and how they impact your variable and evaluate the interaction between those factors to determine any significance for the results.
