Week 5 Math IP

Deliverable Length: 7–9 PowerPoint slides with 100–150 words of speaker notes (including the title slide and reference slide).

You work at a major hotel chain on a product development team. This chain is interested in offering an incentive program for its guests. You believe that it would be in the best interest of the hotel to hire an outside company, Statistics Probability, Inc. (SPI), to help compute which transactions would receive what incentive points. The hotel is unsure of the value of statistics or how statistics can help it make a business decision in this specific situation. To help convince your hotel to use SPI to help compute the statistics, your boss would like you to put together a short presentation.

You have decided to use the following outline in creating your presentation. Use the following guidelines to create an effective and relevant presentation for your boss. Remember, your task is to educate and persuade management about the usefulness of statistics in creating an incentive plan.

  • Slide 1: Introduction: An introduction slide that contains the student’s name, course name, and week number.
  • Slide 2: What are statistics and probability? How can it be used in this situation?
  • Slide 3: What are research questions that can be applied to this situation?
  • Slides 4–6: What are 3 types of statistical analysis or tools that could be used in this task? How can each be used in this situation?
  • Slide 7: References: A reference slide with all sources in APA style.
  • Also, include 100–150 words of speaker notes per slide.
